Tour Itinerary

On arrival at Chandigarh Airport, you will be received by our representative and commuted to your Hotel in Narkanda(approx. 6 hours). If time permits, Visit Hatu Peak. Overnight stay at Narkanda.

Early morning, we shall drive towards Sangla (Approx. 6-7 hours), where you will be checked into your Deluxe Camps near the river.

Enroute, we shall visit the renowned Shri Bhimakali Temple which is said to be one of the 51 Shakti Peeths of Hindu religion and is also an architectural wonder in Sarahan. Sarahan, known as the Gateway to Kinnaur. 

Sangla, situated at a height of 2,700 meters, is a small picturesque village with the Baspa river flowing alongside. Baspa valley or popularly known as Sangla Valley is widely acknowledged as one of the “most beautiful valleys in the Himalayas”. Overnight stay in Deluxe Camps at Sangla.

Early morning, we shall continue our drive to Leh (approx. 6-7 hours).  Enroute, we shall visit Mulbekh, famous for the 9-metre high rock sculpture of Maitreya Buddha built around the 8th century. After a short yet scenic drive through Fotu La pass which is the highest point on the Srinagar-Leh highway (13,479 ft), we reach the village of Lamayuru, home to one of the most famous and oldest monasteries in Ladakh. The landscape here is also known as Moonland, as it resembles the lunar landscape. We continue our journey and reach Alchi monastery, famous for its magnificent and well-preserved 11th or 12th century wall paintings.

The journey takes us through the “Magnetic hill” that is located about 30 km from Leh, at a height of 14,000 feet above sea level. Here you can see the unusual phenomenon of your vehicle going upwards on its own at a speed with the engines off. Our journey ends in Leh, where you will be received by our representative and checked into your Accommodation.  Overnight stay in Leh.

After breakfast, we shall drive to the beautiful town of Kalpa (approx. 2 hours) via Rekong Peo, the district headquarters. One can enjoy spectacular views of the sacred Kinner Kailash Peak, one of the most beautiful peaks in the Himalayas on the way.  

Later, we shall visit Roghi village, Suicide Point, Chinni monastery, Kothi temple, Famous Reckong Peo monastery. You can also explore Reckong Peo market for shopping. Overnight stay at Kalpa.

After breakfast, we shall drive to the village of Tabo (approx 8 hours) in Spiti valley. Enroute, we shall visit Nako village, famous for its serene Nako Lake.  Later, we shall reach Sumdo which is the last village in the Kinnaur District and the entry point to the Spiti Valley. The last point of the Hindustan-Tibet road, Kaurik, is only 19 km from Sumdo.  

We shall take a detour here to Gue village famous for its naturally preserved mummy that is almost 500 years old. The mummy is said to be of a Tibetan Buddhist Lama and is in a sitting posture. We shall continue our drive and end our journey for the day at Tabo. Overnight stay at Tabo.

After breakfast, we shall visit the nearby Tabo Monastery. The monastery is also known as the Ajanta of the Himalayas due to its priceless collection of thangkas (scroll paintings), manuscripts, well-preserved statues, frescos and extensive murals which cover almost every wall.

Later, we shall drive towards towards Pin valley National Park (approx. 2 hours), the greenest part of Spiti that lies below the Kungri glacier.

Enroute, we shall visit the magnificent Dhankar monastery (12,774 feet). Dhankar (meaning fort on a cliff) was the erstwhile capital of Spiti Valley Kingdom during the 17th century.  The complex is built on a 1000-foot (300-metre) high spur overlooking the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers – one of the world’s most spectacular settings for a gompa.

If interested, we can trek towards the beautiful Dhankar Lake located above the Dhankar village at a height of around 13570 feet. It takes approx. 45 mins – 1 hour steep trek to reach this Lake from Dhankar monastery.

We shall continue our drive to Pin Valley. The valley is famous its Chamurthi Horses, one of four recognized Indian horse breeds that are found only in this part of the Indian Himalayas. Mud is the last village of Pin Valley and an important point on the trekking routes to Parvati and Kullu valleys. Overnight in Homestay at Mud.

Morning, we shall visit the Kungri monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Spiti. Later, we shall drive to Kaza(Approx. 2 hours).

Later, we shall visit the magnificent Ki monastery, the biggest monastery of Spiti Valley that offers spectacular views of the valley.  We shall also visit Kibber village. From here, locals use a mountain ropeway to visit Chichul village located on the other side of a deep gorge. Overnight stay at Kaza.

After breakfast, we shall drive to Langza village via one of the world’s highest motorable roads. The village is located at an altitude of 14435 ft with a towering Buddha statue on the mountain top in the background. 

On the way, visit Langza’s Natural Fossil Centre to spot the preserved fossils of the ancient Tethys sea. We shall visit Hikim village, said to have the World’s Highest Post Office and  Komic village, said to be Asia’s highest village, with an altitude of almost 14,800 ft.  Evening, drive back to Kaza. Overnight stay at Kaza.

After breakfast, we shall leave Kaza and drive towards the beautiful ChandraTaal Lake (Lake of the Moon), located at an altitude of 14,100 ft (approx. 5-6 hrs). 

Enroute, we shall drive via the famous Kunzum Pass (altitude 14,931 ft), the entrance pass to the Spiti Valley from Lahaul. You will be checked into your fixed camps located around 2 kms from the lake. Depending on the road conditions, we shall drive towards the lake till the permissible jeepable point and then trek for 45 mins to reach the lake. This lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the country. Evening free at leisure. Overnight stay in Tents.

After breakfast, Visit Chandartaal Lake. Later, we shall drive towards Manali (approx. 7-8hrs) crossing the Kunzum La Pass and Atal Tunnel. We end our drive at Solang, near Manali. Overnight stay at Solang.

After breakfast, we shall leave Manali and drive towards Chandigarh (Approx. 8-9 hours) where you will be checked into your Hotel on arrival. Evening free for rest. Overnight stay at Chandigarh.

After breakfast, we shall drive towards Chandigarh Airport for your onward journey with memories of a Lifetime!
