Tour Itinerary

On arrival at Imphal Airport, you will be received and checked into your Hotel.

Imphal is the Capital of the state of Manipur. Rose into global history because of the Japanese invasion in World War II, Imphal today attracts tourist for its breathtaking aesthetic beauty.

Later, we shall visit Kangla Fort and Ima Market. Overnight stay at Imphal.

After breakfast, we shall go for a full day excursion to Loktak Lake and Sendra Island. Later, we shall visit to Keibul Lamjao National Park sharing the border with Loktak Lake, the last natural habitat of the endangered marsh-dwelling brow-antlered deer of Manipur called “Sangai”. It is the only floating national park in the world which is composed of large masses of floating weed (called “Phumdi” in local dialect).

Then visit INA Museum – the place where Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s India National Army first hoisted the Indian Tricolors. On your way back visit Japanese War Memorial (India Peace Memorial) which is situated at Red Hill, in Bishnupur District of Manipur. If time permits, Visit Loukoi Pat – a picnic spot with boating facility.

Overnight stay at Imphal.

Visit Andro – The place is famed for its fireplace which is never allowed to get extinguish.  Andro is also home to a one-of-its-kind museum called the Mutua Bahadur Museum. It has not been constructed like usual museums with a concrete building housing various sections. But thatched huts and houses built in traditional style are used to house the museum. Tourists can find a fine selection of traditional artefacts, including pottery, coins, manuscripts, paintings, bell metal objects, jewellery, wood carving and a range of ethnic handicraft items. The different houses constructed by the various tribes of Manipur including poumai, kabui, meitei, kuki and tangkhul are also replicated at this museum. The 34 recognised tribes of the state find representation in the form of dolls at the Doll’s House.

Later, we shall drive up to Langol Tourist Watch Tower which gives you a beautiful view of the valley and then return back to Imphal. Overnight stay at Imphal.

After breakfast, we shall visit the Indo – Myanmar Border Town of Moreh. Here, you can cross the border for a short visit to Tamu, its Myanmar counterpart. One can explore the markets and culture at Namphanglong marketplace on the other side of the border.  Overnight stay at Imphal.

After breakfast, we shall leave Manipur and drive to Kohima, the Capital of Nagaland.  Enroute, we shall visit Naga Heritage Village – the permanent site for the famous Hornbill festival. You will pass through the border town of Mao which is the official border gate of Nagaland and Manipur. Evening free for rest. Overnight stay at Kohima.

After breakfast, you proceed to visit Tuophema. The Tuophema village is situated on a hillock surrounded by lush green valley and is set up to showcase the traditions, history and myths of Naga culture and educates the need to preserve this. Visitors can indulge in enjoying the local Naga specialities like food, dance, etc. There is a museum housed within the village and guided walks to nearby hills and visits to paddy fields are available. Overnight stay at Kohima.

After breakfast, we shall do an excursion to Khonoma Village which is the first “Green Village” of Nagaland. The village is well known for the legendary leader Angami Zapu Phizo who was the founder of the Naga movement.

 

Later, we shall visit The Kohima War Cemetery constructed in the memory of the officers and soldiers who made supreme sacrifices during World War II, the war cemetery attracts hundreds of visitors every year including the relatives of those martyrs. Maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the cemetery witnessed more than 2000 graves, on each grave there are beautiful epitaphs carved in bronze. “When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today”. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Kohima.

After breakfast, we drive to Imphal or Dimapur Airport for our onward journey with memories of a Lifetime!
