On morning arrival at Chennai Airport, you will be picked up by our representative and commuted to Puducherry (approx. 3-4 hours).

 Enroute, we shall visit Mahabalipuram. The town is home to several beaches and stone temples, sculptures and monoliths, most of which were made UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1984. Overnight stay at Puducherry.

Today, we can visit the Botanical Garden, Park Monument (Aayi Mandapam), Rock Beach and Seaside Promenade. If interested, one can visit Arikamedu, the only city with an archaeological record of Roman presence in India. Famous for manufacturing amazing bead jewelry, the glass beads site here was considered as the “mother of all bead centers” in the world.  

Later, you can enjoy a boat ride in the backwaters from Chunnambar Boat House to Paradise Beach, one of the most picturesque beaches in Pondicherry. Located along the Cuddalore main road, the backwaters are situated at a point where the Chunnambar river meets Bay of Bengal. Today, we shall visit Mangrove Forest at Pichavaram(Approx. 1 1/2 hours) which is the World’s second largest mangrove forest. 

The mangrove forest at Pichavaram is spread over 1,100 hectares and joins the Bay of Bengal, where its separated by a lengthy sand bank. Apparently, the forest has more than 50 islands of various sizes, and 4,400 big and small canals. The mangroves also attract migrant and local birds including snipes, cormorants, egrets, storks, herons, spoonbills and pelicans. About 177 species of birds belonging to 15 orders and 41 families have been recorded. One can enjoy boating here. Overnight stay at Puducherry.

After breakfast, we shall visit Auroville (20 mins), an experimental township, where people of different nationalities, beliefs and cultures live together in peace. Auroville’s main attraction is the Matrimandir, a 30 metres high dome significant to yoga practitioners.

Later, we shall visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry Museum, the Landmark Mahatma Gandhi Statue and French War Memorial. Evening, we shall visit the Serenity beach. Overnight stay at Puducherry.

After breakfast, we shall drive towards Chennai Airport (approx. 3-4 hours) for your onward journey with memories of a Lifetime!
