Five Elements Temples Tour

Pancha Bootam Sthalam refers to Five Temples dedicated to Lord Shiva each representing a manifestation of the Five Prime Elements of Nature: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. Four of the Temples are in Tamil Nadu and One in Andhra Pradesh.

Tour Itinerary

On arrival at Chennai Airport, you will be picked up by our representative and commuted to your Hotel where you will be checked in.

Later, we shall visit Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Parthasarathy Temple and Ashtalakshmi Temple.

Evening, we shall visit Basant Nagar Beach. Besant Nagar Beach also known as Edward Elliot’s Beach in Chennai is one of the cleanest beaches of India and forms the end-point of the Marina Beach shore. Overnight stay at Chennai.

After breakfast, we shall drive to Kanchipuram (Approx. 2 hours) referred to as one of the 7 sacred cities of Hinduism.

We shall visit the significant Kamakshi Amman Temple and Ekambareswarar temple here. Ekambareshwarar Temple represents the element “EARTH” which is one of the Pancha Bhoota Stalam.

Later, we shall drive to Tirupati(Approx 3 hours). You will be checked into your Hotel on arrival. We shall visit the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple situated in Tiruchanur, at a distance of 5 km from Tirupati. Overnight stay at Tirupati.

Early morning, we shall visit Lord Venkateswara Temple also known as Tirupati Balaji Temple at Tirumala Hills. One of the most important pilgrimage centers in the world, the temple draws millions of pilgrims every year and is the richest temple in the world in terms of donations received and wealth.

Later, we shall visit Sri Kapileswaraswami Temple nearby, the only Shiva temple in Tirupati and located at the foot of the Tirumala Hills. The sacred waterfalls called Kapila Teertham (also known as Alwar Teertham) is located here. Evening free for rest. Overnight stay at Tirupati.

Today, we shall drive to Sri Kalahasti (Approx.1 hour) where you will be checked into your Hotel on arrival.

Later, we shall visit Sri Kalahasti Temple revered as one of the Pancha Bhoota Stalam where the presiding deity is worshipped as Vayu linga (Air). This temple represents the element “AIR” and is considered “Kashi of the South”.  Overnight stay at Sri Kalahasti.

After breakfast, we shall drive to Tiruvannamalai (Approx 5 1/2 hours) in Tamil Nadu.

Enroute, we shall stop by at Vellore where we shall visit the famous Sripuram Golden Temple also known as Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple.

Overnight stay at Tiruvannamalai.

Today, shall visit the renowned Annamalaiyar Temple also known as Arunachaleswarar Temple dedicated to the deity Shiva, located at the base of Arunachala/Annamalai Hill. This temple represents the element “FIRE” in the Pancha Bhoota Stalam.  

The Temple complex covers 10 hectares, and is one of the largest in India. It houses four gateway towers known as gopurams. The Tallest is the eastern tower, with 11 stories and a height of 66 metres (217 ft), making it one of the Tallest Temple Towers in India built by Sevappa Nayakkar (Nayakar dynasty).

One can also visit Sri Ramana Ashram which was home to modern sage and Advaita Vedanta master Ramana Maharshi. If interested, one can trek uphill (Approx. 1.5 kms) to visit Virupaksha cave. From the cave surroundings, one can enjoy breathtaking views of the Thiruvannamalai Temple. Overnight stay at Tiruvannamalai.

After breakfast, we shall drive to Chidambaram (approx. 3 hours)

We will visit Thillai Nataraja Temple which is one among the Five Holiest temples of Lord Shiva and represents ‘SPACE” in the Pancha Bootha Sthalam. The Temple, built in succession by kings of the Chola dynasty is dedicated to Nataraja, the Dancing form of Lord Shiva. The intricate sculptures within, depict lord Shiva in poses of Bharatnatyam, an ancient classical form of dance. The temple has two ancient dance halls called the Thousand Pillar Hall and the Hundred Pillar Hall, both of which are used for an annual classical dance festival held in the temple.

Later, we shall visit Mangrove Forest at Pichavaram which is the World’s second largest mangrove forest. Overnight stay at Chidambaram.

Today, we shall drive to Trichy (Approx. 4 hours).

Enroute, we shall visit the Brahadeeswarar Temple, built in the early 11th century in Thanjavur. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Brahadeeswarar Temple is unparalleled for its beauty and scale. Overnight stay at Trichy.

Today, we shall visit Thiruvanaikaval Jambukeswarar Temple. This Temple represents the element “WATER” in the Pancha Bootha Sthalam. We shall also visit the Srirangam Renganathar Temple. Overnight stay at Trichy.

After breakfast, we shall drive to Trichy Airport for your onward journey with memories of a Lifetime!
